Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has voiced his concerns over the team’s recent slump in the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, as the Porcupine Warriors struggle to find their form.
Currently, Kotoko is experiencing a tough spell, having gone three games without a win, including consecutive losses in their last two matches.
With a crucial Week 10 fixture against Bechem United approaching, Coach Ogum spoke candidly about the pressure mounting within the squad. In an interview with Kotoko’s media team, he revealed that the entire camp, from technical staff to players, is deeply affected by their poor run.
“I’m worried, very concerned about it [our form]. The whole technical team, the players, everybody is worried, and nobody is happy about this situation. We started the league well, so we didn’t anticipate we would face such a challenge,” Coach Ogum said.
Ogum also acknowledged the disappointment among fans, whose high expectations were fueled by Kotoko's strong start to the season.
“We all feel, especially myself, the pain of the fans. They expected more from us, and we were meeting those expectations before our form dropped,” he added.
Despite the challenges, Coach Ogum assured supporters that the team is determined to bounce back.
“We want to assure them that we are putting the house together. We are regrouping, and we will ensure that we bounce back stronger and play beautifully,” Coach Ogum said confidently.
Asante Kotoko will look to turn their season around on Sunday, November 10, when they face Bechem United. Fans are hopeful the Porcupine Warriors will deliver a much-needed response and end their recent losing streak.
