Nations FC head coach, Samuel Frimpong Manso has admitted the game against Heart of Lions was a very hard nut to crack even though they came out victorious.

The Eagles gave a very good fight having come from behind to beat the Giant Killers by 2-1 in what was a very thrilling game at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports last Saturday

Liberian international Chauncy Freeman opened the scoring account for Lions with a close range strike in the 17th minute.

Ruben Hennessy headed into his own net from Antwi Sarpong’s little cross into the box for the home team to get back on level terms even before half-time.

With just five minutes to full-time, Prince Badu’s strong hit from distance took a wicked deflection to get into the net to hand Nations FC the lead for the first time in the game and the precious win in the end

In a post-match interview, the experienced gaffer confessed they were giving a good run for their money but heaped praises on his players for their fighting spirit and hopes this will be the massive turnaround for them from henceforth

“It was a very difficult game. We knew this even before the beginning of the week that Lions are a good side, so it’s going to be difficult. Even when we were down, I believed we could turn things around, so for me, I didn’t give up after we conceded the first goal,” the coach said.

“This win will motivate us to fight. I know we will come back. Strongly. We only need something to step on to move forward. I believe this match can take us up there.”

Nations FC will travel to the capital next week to take on giants Hearts of Oak in the next round of matches
