Asante Kotoko interim coach Mohammed Hamza Obeng believes his side deserved more than a point after their 1-1 draw with FC AshantiGold 04 in match-week 8 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners took a first-half lead through Samuel Fosu Boateng, whose long-range effort in the 41st minute took a deflection on its way into the net.
Patrick Asiedu equalised for the Porcupine Warriors in the 62nd minute with a powerful free-kick.
The enterprising gaffer admitted that Kotoko started the game well but lost their way at certain stages, allowing the home side to grow into the game and create opportunities.
“It’s not a fair result. For us we started well, from building from behind and building the play but at some part we missed our way,” he said.
He further added that his technical team used the half-time break to address the team’s performance, with Kotoko improving after the restart.
“It’s better drawing than losing. So now we need to prepare and make sure we go all out to pick three points in our next match.”
Asante Kotoko will now return home to host champions Medeama SC in what will be a tough encounter in the next round of matches.
