Head coach of Medeama SC, Ibrahim Arnyas Tanko has expressed ecstasy after his side’s hard-earned victory over giants Hearts of Oak over the weekend and it’s looking forward to similar or better performance from his players in the second round.

The Mauves and Yellows prevailed with a slim 1-0 win over the giants in a very thrilling match-day 17 clash at the TnA Stadium last Sunday dusk

The ‘Phobians’ got humbled by their own former conjurer Salim Adams whose 74th minute close range hit was enough to make the difference between the two sides

In an interview after the game, Tanko says they feel excited with the win but won’t be swollen headed as they are desperate for nothing but the league title this season.

“It’s very important. The game was really a very tactical one. We possessed well and controlled the game so it’s a deserved win for us so we’re very happy

“Even if defenders will get us the goals to win, no problem. It’s not going to be easy in the second round but we will prepare ourselves very well for the challenge.”

The 2023 Ghanaians champions finished the first round on top of the league with two points lead and are currently on a fourteen game winning streak

On top with 34 points after seventeen games, Medeama SC will host Young Apostles in the next round of matches
