Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has admitted that his side are battling a goalscoring problem following their 1–0 defeat to Medeama SC in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League clash.
The Phobians were stunned at the TNA Park on Matchweek 17, with Salim Adams’ second-half strike sealing victory for the league leaders and extending their impressive run at the top of the table.
Despite a disciplined performance, Hearts of Oak once again failed to convert their chances, an issue Dramani believes remains a major obstacle to the team’s progress.
Speaking after the match, he admitted his side struggled to make an impact in front of goal.
“Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem. You saw the chance we had in the first half and the one in the second half,” he said.
“These chances, you don’t miss them, but we’re still a work in progress.”
Hearts of Oak have scored 11 goals and conceded seven so far this season, leaving them with a goal difference of four.
The defeat keeps the Accra giants fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points, and Dramani says the focus now is on responding positively in their next league game.
The Phobians will aim to return to winning ways when they face Hohoe United in their Matchweek 18 fixture on Sunday, January 11.
