Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says his side were unfortunate to leave Tarkwa empty-handed after their 1–0 defeat to Medeama SC in Sunday’s Matchweek 17 Ghana Premier League clash.
The Phobians held the Yellow and Mauves for much of the Matchweek 17 encounter at the TNA Park, but Salim Adams’ 74th-minute effort proved vital as Medeama tightened their grip at the top of the table.
Reflecting on the result, Dramani maintained that Hearts of Oak merited at least a share of the spoils.
“I don’t think the better team won. We didn’t deserve to lose today against Medeama SC,” he said.
The former Black Stars assistant coach praised his side’s overall performance but admitted Medeama were clinical when their chance arrived.
“We controlled the greater part of the game; they also had their moment, and I think they scored a very beautiful goal,” he added.
Dramani admitted that inefficiency in front of goal remains a major concern for his team.
“Absolutely, goalscoring is really a problem. You saw the chance we had in the first half and the one in the second half. These chances, you don’t miss them, but we’re still a work in progress.”
The defeat leaves Hearts of Oak fifth on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points. The Accra giants now turn their attention to Matchweek 18, where they face Hohoe United.
