Former Ghana international goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has named his Ghana Premier League Team of the Week for Matchday 26, spotlighting players who delivered standout performances across the league.

Headlining the XI is Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, who not only impressed with a commanding display between the sticks but was also handed the captain’s armband for his leadership and composure.

The defensive trio features Samuel Osei Kuffour of Nations FC, Nurudeen Abdulai of Medeama SC, and Rich Sackey of Aduana FC — all of whom were rock solid at the back, thwarting opposing attacks and helping their sides keep clean sheets or secure vital results.

The midfield four includes Emmanuel Annor (Nations FC), Ishmael Addo (Heart of Lions), Justice Blay (Asante Kotoko), and Emmanuel Kontor (Young Apostles FC). Blay, in particular, was instrumental in Kotoko’s midfield dominance with his tireless work rate and ball-winning ability, while Addo and Annor added attacking flair and creativity.

In attack, the front three of Prince Tweneboah (Basake Holy Stars), Abdul Razak Salifu (Dreams FC), and Godwin Sefah (FC Samartex 1996) were rewarded for their sharp finishing and overall attacking contributions. Their efforts played a significant role in helping their respective clubs secure important points.

Dreams FC head coach Abdul Karim Zito was named Coach of the Week following his side’s tactical masterclass and impressive win.

The team, set up in a 3-4-3 formation, reflects the depth of talent currently on display in the league, as players continue to make a strong case for national team consideration and end-of-season accolades.
