Asante Kotoko midfielder, Justice Blay has described their game against Accra Lions as 'a must-win' as they set sights on redeeming themselves from the defeat they tasted in their last game.
The Porcupine Warriors have had a jittery start to the second round having lost two and won one, with the recent one coming against Karela United in Nalerigu over the weekend.
They come up against a charged up and high-flying Accra Lions who pummelled Berekum Chelsea by 5-0 in the last round of matches on home spoil and need the win at all cost to redeem themselves and stay in the title race.
Speaking ahead of the game, the combative middleman admitted they haven't been too good recently but has pleaded with the fans to come in numbers to rally behind them to victory tomorrow.
Although we have disappointed our supporters by not getting the wins or the needed results in the away games as we did in the first round, that’s how football is. We all know that we had a slow start in the first round, but we were able to make amends and turn things around, and we almost went 10 games unbeaten, so it’s never too late for us," he told the club's media.
“I will also urge our supporters to keep calm. The game against Accra Lions is our focus now; it’s a must-win game because we know points build up and our position on the league log. We will not go three games without a victory," he added.
The game is slated for 18:00GMT (6:00pm) on Wednesday, March 13, at the Baba Yara Stadium.
