Bechem United midfielder Kofi Tompuo didn’t hold back his words following their defeat to the hunters on Wednesday.
The youngster was not pleased with Coach Aboubakar Ouatarra’s tactics, saying the team was gauche as they kept sending the ball soaring at any given chance.
Hearts of Oak lost 1-0 to rejuvenated Bechem United in the match-week 20 clash at Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Tompuo - who also claimed the NASCO MVP award' hinted at the need for their opponent to make tactical maneuvers in future matches.
“Their plan was to hit long balls at every opportunity. We, on the other hand, wanted to possess the ball, be expressive, and fluid. Our midfielders are very comfortable on the ball and can keep possession for long spells,” he said.
“Hearts of Oak is a big team, and facing them comes with expectations. Everyone watches when you play against them. Our team was determined to win, and once we get into that mood at home, we always win,” he added.
