Assistant coach of Asante Kotoko, David Ocloo steered affairs yesterday against Legon Cities in the absence of his boss Prosper Narteh Ogum and has expressed excitement over the win.
The Porcupine Warriors recorded consecutive wins after coming from behind to beat the Royals by 1-3 in Sogakope in match-day 12 of the Ghana Premier League.
Nasiru Moro opened the scoring account for the hosts with a fantastic free kick. But an own goal, coupled with other two from Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala and youngster Isaac Oppong powered the fightback and handed the Reds all three points.
Speaking on StarTimes after the game, the enterprising tactician expressed a profound gratitude to his boss despite his absence and strongly believes his pep talk to the players after half time did the magic. He also thanked their supporters for their unending support towards the club always.
"It was a difficult goal to take but I told my players to get going and they did that to ensure we win. I dedicate this win to our boss, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, he’s being a marvelous boss so far. I thank him for this opportunity and will thank also for the pep talk during recess, it has been a wonderful pep talk because it really inspired the players” he told StarTimes.
“I will also dedicate win to our supporters for being there for us during hard time, they are marvelous supporters and we really appreciate them”
Asante Kotoko after winning their last two matches, have now climbed up to the 6th position on the table with 16 points.
They will host Berekum Chelsea in a Sunday night football next week in Kumasi.
