The former WAFA tactician is sanguine the 22-year-old lethal frontman is capable of annexing the top scorers accolade in this current Ghanaian top-flight
Asante Kotoko SC striker Albert Amoah has what it takes to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League Golden Boot, according to his manager Prosper Nartey Ogum.
The former Great Olympics hitman, who joined the Kumasi-based club on a three-year deal this season, has already hit the ground running for the Porcupine Warriors with his goal-scoring exploits in this ongoing elite division contest.
That notwithstanding, given his firing power upfront, the man in charge of the dugout at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, is now convinced his clinical finisher stands a better chance of winning this season's goal king diadem, with his team-mates ready to assist him in chalking this feat by scoring more goals at the end of the campaign.
The no-nonsense gaffer told Graphic Sports: ''He [Albert Amoah] has what it takes to win the goal king title and his teammates are ready to support him to score more goals.''
''He is always hungry to score in every match. If he maintains this mentality and stays disciplined, particularly with his training and fitness, he’ll surpass the player we’re seeing now,'' he added.
The 2021/22 Ghana Premier League winning coach shed light on how he spotted and unearth his marksman by nurturing his talent to reach his full potential as an upcoming youngster.
''I coached Albert when he was a Senior High School student in the Central Region. So I’ve known him for a long time. I recognised his massive potential early on and worked to nurture it. Coaching is about unlocking potential, and I knew he only needed guidance.''
''He possesses the three ‘S’ of football—speed, skill and strength. What I admire most is his commitment and his desire to train and play. He is a very good player.''
Amoah has so far netted 7 in 14 league game appearances for Asante Kotoko in this ongoing Ghana Premier League.
He's currently a member of the Black Galaxies team and he's likely to lead the line when Ghana face their continental arch-rivals the Nigeria's Super Eagles B team in the second leg tie of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers on Saturday (December 28 ) at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Nigeria.
