Asante Kotoko head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, expressed his satisfaction with the debut performance of Sudanese striker AbdoelKarem AbdoelRahman Yoouef Yagoub in Kotoko’s 1-0 win against Accra Lions in the Ghana Premier League.
Yagoub, making his first appearance for the Porcupine Warriors, played a crucial role in Kotoko's victory at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
The win marked Kotoko's second consecutive triumph, propelling them to the top of the league standings. Yagoub is one of two Sudanese players signed by Kotoko ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
Speaking about Yagoub's performance, Dr. Ogum said, “I must say I was impressed because we gave him an assignment. They play out from the back, and we tasked him with cutting off one of the center backs to make their play more predictable. If you watched him carefully, he did that very well.”
Ogum also highlighted the striker's ability to press and put pressure on opponents, stating, “He is very good at pressing and ensuring the opponent feels the pressure.”
Albert Amoah scored the decisive goal for Kotoko in the 48th minute, securing all three points and maintaining the team’s winning momentum.
