The Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Richard Ofori Agyemang, popularly known as King Zuba, has called for the dismissal of Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito, citing dissatisfaction with the team’s performances since his appointment.

Zito took charge of the Porcupine Warriors as their permanent head coach in July this year, following his impressive stint as interim manager, having guided the club to win the MTN FA Cup, beating lower-tier side Golden Kicks FC in the final.

However, Kotoko have struggled for consistency in the current Ghana Premier League campaign under the former Dreams FC coach. The club have managed just one win in their last five league matches.

Prior to last Sunday’s victory over Dreams FC, the Porcupine Warriors endured a four-game winless run, recording two defeats and two draws.

Despite Kotoko sitting third in the table after 14 matches with 24 points, the Kumasi Mayor believes the club has failed to show clear progress and requires a new direction.

“I have not seen any significant improvement in Asante Kotoko since Karim Zito took over. For me, the club needs a fresh direction, and that should come from an experienced expatriate coach,” he told Akoma FM.
