Asante Kotoko former captain, Abdul Ganiyu Ismail was reported to have asked for the termination of his contract with immediate effect couple of days ago.

This was mainly because he had seek to for a new challenge elsewhere which will fetch him more salary as compared to what he is earning now with the giants, per speculations.

His actions ended up getting him into a huge trouble after missing out on the club's preseason tour to Sudan after he had taken part in their ten-day stay in the capital for the first phase.

However, a trusted insider has told Kickgh.com that, Abdul Ganiyu Ismail has rescinded his decision after calling for the termination of his contract and is willing to continue with them in the upcoming season.

The 26 year old has already lost the captaincy to Richard Boadu in an official club announcement which was made last Tuesday before their friendly against Sudanese champions Al Hilal Omdurman- a game they lost by 2-0.

Yussif Mubarik, Danlad Ibrahim, Christopher Nettey and their newly-signed Cameroonian goalie Moise Pouaty D'assise will also serve as his deputies heading into the 2022/23 season.

Ganiyu, led the Porcupine Warriors to their 24th league triumph in the recently finished season, but played fewer matches due to consistent injuries he sustained last season.
