Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper Amos Frimpong says his side is well poised for victory in their upcoming 2016 President Cup match against arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak on Friday.
Hearts emerged victorious when they both met in last year's edition for which Hearts of Oak won by 5-4 on penalty shoot-outs.
However,Amos believes that this is the right time for his side to avenge the painful defeat they suffered in the hands of their great foes last year, adding penalty shoot-outs is the least thing his team are anticipating as they eye a one touch victory in full regulation time for the tie come tomorrow at the Accra Sports Stadium.
"The game is going to be difficult but i believe come at the end of the 90minutes,Kotoko will surely carry the day," the home-based Black Stars guardsman told Kickgh.com in an exclusive interview.
"This is an opportunity and the right time to avenge the defeat we suffered against them in this same cup game last year,"
"I think this time round, things are going to be different as we're well prepared and motivated to face them in this match," he asserted.
"Again,i don't think the match will travel to penalty shoot-outs as it happened last year because we are anticipating for a one touch victory within full regulation time and hopefully we shall be doing that," he added.
Amos Frimpong has urged their teeming fans to throng in more in their numbers to the Stadium in order to give them their massive support which he believes will play a big role in their quest to clinch the trophy.
"I am urging the fans to come to the Stadium in their numbers to cheer us up and give us their massive and moral support. With this,I believe it will impact more confidence in as we try to win the trophy," he stated.
Accra Hearts of Oak have won four of the President's Cup whilst Kumasi Asante Kotoko have won two since the inception of the Cup competition.
