Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Mohammed Alhassan has disclosed and given reasons as to why it will be very difficult for his former club to win the Ghana Premier League this season.

The Porcupine Warriors had a jittery start to the campaign but have been faring well recently and hopes to continue with the same momentum in their subsequent matches.

The 'Kum Apem' lads started off the campaign with draws and a defeat in their opening three matches, but have two wins in their last two, securing a vital one in the capital over Accra Lions before beating Aduana Stars narrowly last week on home soil.

The consecutive wins has seen them risw from the bottom and are currently sitting on the fifth position with 8 points after five matches.

Speaking in an interview, the ex- netminder admitted Kotoko's direct competitors for the league have more experienced figures in their squad and that will make it extremely tedious for the Reds to win the league.

"It will be difficult for Kotoko finish on top of league at the end of the season, Kotoko are competing with Dreams FC, Medeama, Aduana Stars and others, who have matured players, they also have players who have had stints with them for a longer period than Kotoko”

“Truth be told, Kotoko can finish in the top four teams but winning the league will be difficult for them” he said.

Asante Kotoko will play as guests to regional rivals Nations FC on Sunday, October 22, at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
