Aante Kotoko, the Ghanaian football giant, has released 18 players from its squad following a disappointing season that saw the team finish 6th in the Ghana Premier League.

In a shock move, the club parted ways with 11 players on Tuesday, including Kalo Ouattara, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, Isaac Oppong, Augustine Agyapong, and Nicholas Mensah. The others let go were John Tedeku, Sherif Mohammed, George Mfegue, Serge Eric Zeze, Danlad Ibrahim, and Moise Pouaty.

But the departure of players didn't stop there. On Wednesday morning, the club released seven more players, taking the total number of departures to 18.

The new additions to the list include Samuel Asamoah, Nanabayin Amoah, Isahaku Fuseini, Rocky Dwamena, Richmond Opoku, Julius Ofori Ziggy, and youngster Shadrack Addo.

The mass exodus comes after Kotoko failed to win the Ghana Premier League title at the end of the 2023/24 campaign and finished 6th in the standings.

The club is expected to revamp its squad ahead of the next season.
