Kwadwo Obeng Junior scored the only goal for Hearts of Oak to beat Nsoatreman FC last Tuesday to get back to winning ways and also launch their return from the break in style.
The game was a very tough one until the lanky striker capitalised on a goalkeeping blunder to score on the 54th minute to grind all three points for the 'Phobians.'
The precious victory has now extended Hearts of Oak's recent unbeaten run to eight matches and are currently found 3rd on the league log with 16 points
However, coach Slavko Matic missed four of his key players heading into the game; Gladson Awako, Dennis Korsah, Suraj Seidu and Konadu Yiadom- all currently in the camp of the Black Galaxies who are preparing for the 2022 CHAN scheduled for early next year.
Speaking with StarTimes after the game, the 23 year old was really impressed with the victory and added they have an all round squad and are ready to win their subsequent matches despite missing some of their key players.
“We have a united and a strong squad. Everyone is capable and we are always ready to take up the responsibilities when the coach gives us the opportunity. Though some of our players are out on national assignment, we still played and won which should send a signal that we are strong side."
Hearts of Oak will host Bechem United on Sunday, January 1, 2023 in match-week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.
