Sudan national team coach, Kwesi Appiah has clearly stated he is unlikely to bring any Sudanese national to come play football in Ghana ever again.
Appiah made his remarks bare after two Sudanese players of Asante Kotoko' defender Esmat Abdal Hamid Mohammed Al Hasan and forward Abdoelkarem Yousef Yagoub ran away from the teams camp in the USA.
The two players disappeared from the camp base in Washington DC a day before Kotoko's ceremonial game against Major League Soccer side DC United on Saturday, October 12, 2024, as part of the Ghana Week DC 2024 festivities.
But, CCTV footage unmasked that the players had bolted from the hotel the Porcupines were lodging with no trace for their whereabouts.
"The truth is that because of the two players who ran away from Asante Kotoko camp, I am not willing to bring any players to Ghana, but the Sudan captain says he would want to play for Asante Kotoko one day but at the moment, I am not interested in bringing ant Sudanese player to Ghana," Appiah told Asempa FM.
