Communications Director of Legon Cities, Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang has revealed that relieving head coach Yaw Acheampong off his duties was a hard decision.
Dwomoh's comments comes after granting an interview with Citi Sports as a result of Legon Cities appointing Tijani Abdul Rahim as their new head coach.
Regardless of the experience of Yaw Acheampong, who has coached clubs like Aduana Stars and Elmina Sharks, Dwomoh believes that the results eventually brought about the decision to sack him.
“It was a hard decision we had to take; results had not been great and we found ourselves sucked into the relegation zone and we felt we had to do something, we felt we had to move in a different direction.
“It was a tough decision but management was of the opinion that results were not coming in like we wanted when we hired Mr. Yaw Acheampong.”
Legon Cities are currently lurking in 17th in the 18-team Premier League table, and they will take on league leaders Nations FC in a Match week 31 fixture on Friday, May 16.
