Ghanaian lawmaker, Mahama Ayariga, has stated confidently that the domestic leagues will soon supersede the European leagues.
Ayariga, who doubles as the Majority leader in Ghana's Parliament says this will be carried out when the 24-hour economy policy is implemented.
“With the 24-hour economy strategy, football is going to be a major enabler of the 24-hour economy and very soon we will see it. Very soon our local league will replace the European leagues,” he said on the floor of Parliament on Thursday, February 19.
The Member of Parliament for Bawku Central also went ahead to state that the local leagues will not just overtake the European league, but they will guarantee its growth under newly appointed sports minister' Kofi Adams and the government of President John Dramani Mahama.
