Ghana Premier League, which was suspended earlier this month due to the death of Kotoko fan, Francis Frimpong known as Nana Pooley, has been given the green light to resume subject to the clubs meeting stringent protocols.

Kickgh.com understands that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) will release a statement in the coming days to confirm this development as the FA has approved the various club's proposed safety regulations which include testing and playing under heavy security in a safe, sanitized environment.

The league will be allowed to resume as soon as the clubs meet all the required protocols, although the FA Cup Round of 16 games is scheduled to resume this weekend.

While the league still has to decide when it will resume fixtures, the 18 GPL clubs can now start training ahead of the resumption of the top-flight.

Twenty Five-time GPL champions Asante Kotoko, who are seeking to end a two-year trophy drought, sit to of the table with 34-point lead over Bibiani Gold Stars who also have same 34 point.
