Member of Parliament for New Edubiase, Adams Abdul-Salam, has flagged critical problems with the state of match venues in the Ghana Premier League.

According to the lawmaker, most of the match centres are inappropriate to even host Division Two League matches.

Abdul-Salam's comments came as a reply to the unfortunate death of Asante Kotoko ardent fan Nana Pooley, who was stabbed during a Ghana Premier League match between the Porcupine Warriors and Nsoatreman on February 2, at the Nana Koronmansah Park.

Additionally there was further chaos just last weekend during a Division One League match between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks where the centre referee of the match was attacked.

“Most of our Ghana Premier League centers are not even qualified to host Division Two League games. Apart from the pitches not being in shape, the security lapses have been obvious but we all turn a blind eye to it," Abdul-Salam told Asempa FM.

“No leader from the Ghana Football Association or GHALCA can come and feign surprise about what happened in Nsoatre," he added.
