Despite being down to 10 men, Medeama SC displayed a remarkable performance to defeat Legon Cities FC 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
The defending league champions faced the Royals in a Week 9 clash of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, held at the El Wak Stadium.
Medeama SC faced adversity when Godknows Dzakpasu received a red card in the 38th minute, after being shown a second yellow card. Nevertheless, the visiting team remained resilient, played cohesively as a unit, and managed to disrupt the hosts.
Shortly before halftime, Medeama SC took the lead with a goal scored by Mamudu Kamaradin in added time.
In the second half, the league champions pulled off a quick and effective play that resulted in a goal by Kofi Asmah in the 59th minute.
Despite Legon Cities having their moments, they were unable to find the target, ultimately succumbing to a 2-0 defeat after 90 minutes.
