t's a fifth straight win for Accra Lions who grind another important 0-1 away triumph over Bechem United in GPL match-week 6 at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to claim top spot.

The Hunters commenced the game with the typical approach of a home team, having launched series of attacks in search for the opener in the early stages but all proved futile.

Kasim Mingle's men dominated the first half and nearly found the back of the net on two occasions but a great double stops from the Lions goalie Andrews Owusu kept them in the game.

It was really an entertaining half with both teams playing on top of their game, with Bechem United having a slight upper hand.

Accra Lions stole the opener on the 44th minute after Frederick Asante tapped into the net from Hagan Frimpong's cross at a very close range. Just what they have been hunting for.

The home team got back from the break on a good note, and took the game at their opponents but struggled to find the back of the net.

Accra Lions managed to preserve their first half lead to full time to claim all three points from Bechem- their fifth consecutive win and have now jumped to the top of the table.

They are now leading the league comfortably heading into the World Cup following Aduana's loss, with 15 points after six round of matches.
