Accra Lions FC could have moved to the summit of the table with a point lead but unfortunately couldn't after playing out a goalless draw with Bechem United at the Ohene Gyan Stadium in an epic GPL week 23 tie.

The homesters began with a big shout for a penalty after Daniel Awuni appeared to have been clipped down by goalkeeper Japheth Norvienyo in the box but the referee waved play on.

The Hunters didn't get frightened by nothing and also came all out in search for the opener, playing like the home team.

Despite the explosive start from both teams, there was no goal registered as it finished goalless at half time.

In the second phase of the game, David Oduro signalled the host running with a volley but was dealt with nicely by the Bechem backline.

One again, Japheth Norvienyo had to rise up to the task on the 55th minute to pull another great stop to deny Daniel Awuni once again.

Both teams attacked each other in the last fifteen minutes, fired from all cylinders but couldn't find the back of the net as it finished goalless after full time.

This means Aduana Stars continue to hold onto their lead at the top whiles Accra Lions and Bechem United will follow with 38 and 37 points on second and third spot respectively.
