The Porcupine Warriors intensified their preparations for the upcoming season with a friendly against the third-tier league outfit on Sunday morning.

Asante Kotoko, who have been in Nsuta Beposo for the past weeks, were held to a 1-1 thrilling draw by Kharis Sports Academy in a pre-season friendly at K.K Sarpong Sports Complex.

 

Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum paraded a strong starting line up which included some of the club's new signing in this transfer window.

 

Despite the star-studded Premier League side, Ebenezer Kobina fired Kharis Sports Academy to the lead with a fine strike in the midway of the first half.

 

Asante Kotoko tried their lucks severally in the remaining minutes of first half to level the score but their efforts went futile.

 

In the second half, Asante Kotoko made changes in the line up which saw the introduction of Richmond Lamptey, Enoch Morrison, Eric Serge Zeze and others with the hopes of snatching the equalizer in the early minutes to notch up more goals.

 

However, the lower-tier side stood resolute to every inroads from the Porcupine Warriors unleashed on them until a defensive error saw Eric Serge Zeze leveling the score on the 89th minute of the game.

 

Asante Kotoko will play against Kumasi Cornerstone FC in another pre-season friendly at the Dr. K.K Sarpong Sports Complex in few hours.
