The final day of the Betpawa Premier League 2022-23 season saw Asante Kotoko and Dreams FC settle for a draw at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko, the home side, started the game with a flurry of chances, but Dreams FC's defense remained resolute, denying Kotoko the opening goal. The match was characterized by midfield battles, with Asante Kotoko, led by Richard Boadu, dominating possession. After 45+2 minutes, referee Robert Musey blew the whistle for the end of the first half.

At the start of the second half, Asante Kotoko made an early substitution, bringing on Eric Zeze to replace the injured Enoch Morrison. Eric had an immediate impact, delivering a defense-splitting pass to Cameroonian Mfegue, but Ali Jalilu made a crucial clearance to prevent Mfegue from scoring his fifth goal of the season in the 56th minute.

In the 60th minute, Mfegue had another opportunity to break the deadlock after a delightful cross from Shadrack Addo, but he inadvertently handled the ball, resulting in a free kick for Dreams FC. As the match neared its conclusion, Dreams FC goalkeeper Somolon Agbasi made an impressive save to deny Solomon Sarfo Taylor's thunderous strike, ensuring the game remained deadlocked.

Following the draw, Asante Kotoko maintained their fourth position with 52 points, while Dreams FC moved up to sixth position with 48 points, just one point above seventh-placed Karela United.

Asante Kotoko will now give their players some time off before resuming preseason preparations, while Dreams FC will continue training and preparing for their upcoming MTN FA Cup game against King Faisal.
