Asante Kotoko have narrowly defeated Bibiani GoldStars by 1-0 at the Dun’s Park in a very fascinating game to win the ‘Champion of Champions’ title.

Bibiani GoldStars started the game on a blistering note and made an incursion in the fifth minute but Shaybu Abubakar put in a strong tackle to deny Atta Kumi. He subsequently made way for goal scorer Hamzata Musah.

The Miners nearly scored Appiah McCarthy’s free kick but Mohammed Camara pulled two huge saves to rescue the situation.

Back from recess, Asante Kotoko came so close to scoring but Albert Amoah had his towering header dealt with properly by Emmanuel Kobi.

In the 70th minute, substitute Musah Hamzata finally opened the scoring account with a strike into the bottom corner from a brilliant Seth Kwadwo’s cross. It finished 1-0 after full-time.

The game was a very exciting one - the best to properly usher us into the 2025/26 football season

The Porcupine Warriors have redeemed themselves very well with this victory after a very appalling ‘Top 4’ campaign and will hope to build on this momentum.
