Asante Kotoko stepped up their preseason preparations with two impressive friendly victories against Venomous Vipers and Ebusua Dwarfs on Monday, August 18, at the Cape Coast Stadium.
In the first fixture, the Porcupine Warriors cruised to a commanding 3-0 win over Vipers. Samba O’Niel opened the scoring in the 10th minute after a brilliant team move, before Albert Amoah doubled the advantage in the 36th minute with a neat finish following a swift counterattack. Kwame Opoku capped off the performance in the 58th minute, striking clinically to seal a dominant display.
Kotoko faced a tougher challenge in their second outing against Ebusua Dwarfs but managed to grind out a narrow 1-0 victory. Youngster Jordan Amissah emerged the hero, netting the decisive goal just a minute into the second half to secure back-to-back wins for the Reds.
The double triumph represents another strong step forward in head coach Karim Zito’s preseason program as Kotoko prepare for the upcoming GHALCA Top 4 tournament and the demanding 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
