Baba Yahaya's late goal was enough to earn Asante Kotoko a pulsating 1-1 draw against Karela United in GPL match-day 3 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Karela United started well and surprised everyone with the opening goal in just eight minutes from kickoff.

Henry Ainsu failed to clear a long ball towards Evans Adomako who nipped on the clanger to struck with his side foot to snatch the lead in just nine minutes from kickoff.

Quick response from Kotoko few minutes on, Samuel Asamoah launched in a good cross towards Steven Mukwala but couldn't follow up with a connection to level things up.

Samuel Asamoah tried his luck on the 26th minute in search for equalizer but went wide off the crossbar for a goal-kick.

With Kotoko down at half time, they returned on a blistering note in the second half firing from all cylinders in search for a goal.

The visitors looked very compact at the back and were not any ready to surrender their precious lead as they look to preserve it until full time.

On the 65th minute, Baba Yahaya's in swing corner kick fell on Henry Ansu who controlled downwards for Nurudeen Mohammed but was two wide and couldn't make the connection.
