Baba Yahaya's late goal earned the Porcupine Warriors a point against Karela United at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Sunday.

Former Kotoko forward Evans Adomako Wiredu gave the visitors the lead in the first half, but a spirited performance by the hosts in the dying embers of the game gave them the chance to leave the stadium with a point.

Below are four things we learned from the game.

Evans Adomako silences his critics.

Great players choose special moments to announce their presence. For two seasons, the striker struggled for form thus earning him of criticism of the many a Kotoko fan.

The least opportunity, they get, they calumniate him forgetting how prolific he could be on a good day. He was eventually released and found refugee in Karela United.

Fortunately for Adomako, he was presented with an opportunity to prove his critics wrong and he never disappointed- he outwitted Kotoko's Henry Ansu and intelligently placed the ball beyond the reach of Danlad Ibrahim to register his third of the season.

Karela United are a good team

I know you agree with this claim but let me indulge. Karela have good players and are a good team. The draw against Kotoko doesn’t reflect that, but that was a strong performance.

The nature of their attack against the Kumasi side was nervy. However, Karela showed just how resolute their midfield is as they picked apart Kotoko's midfielders.

They dominated possession and asked the right questions in the middle of the park. Before the interval, they had more about 60 percent of the ball and about 50 percent by the end.

Ansu endures a night to forget

A promising start to his Kotoko career now seems a long time ago for Henry Ansu. The former Berekum Chelsea defender had a limp showing. The so-called telepathic relationship with Nurudeen was nowhere to be found with the former clearly short of confidence.

The one or two times he was called to action came to nothing, and palpably to blame for Karela's goal.

Ogum will be hoping the towering defender can settle in sooner rather than later, but the player who starred in the Berekum Chelsea remains conspicuous by his absence.

Mukwala fails to make an impression again

It wasn't all good news for Kotoko fans with Stephen Mukwal once again failing to make an impact. Up against a hard-working Karela defence, the Ugandan forward failed to find any space but perhaps more worryingly, he failed to make any impact in the area.

Famed for his ability to pop-up with a crucial goal, those late runs into the penalty box which became his trademark last season has all dried up in the current campaign, and that is a major concern for Ogum.

If he was fit, then his performance was dismal and if he played through injury, then it raises even more questions as to why he lasted that long.
