Basit Seidu netted a haul to power Accra Lions to a resounding 4-2 win over Medeama SC in an exciting GPL match-week 27 opener at the Ohene Gyan Stadium

The Lions had a very blistering start which eventually got them the opener in just nine minutes, thanks to an assist from Dzigbah for Seidu Basit to grab the lead.
 
On the 14th minute, the Mauves and Yellows with a big opportunity to restore themselves back in the game but Anoba had his effort dealt with nicely by goalkeeper Andrews Owusu.
 
The homesters doubled their lead on the 33rd minute after lively Evans Botchway sets up Abdul Basit once again for their second to seal his brace. Finished 2-0 for Accra Lions after half time.
 
Back from recess, Medeama SC returned on an explosive note, attacking right from the blast of the referee's whistle in search for equalizer. 
 
They eventually got themselves a penalty after a ball went off an opposing player's hand in the box. Stalwart defender Vincent Atinga stepped up and scored to reduce the deficit.
 
Just five minutes after, Atinga scored from another spot-kick to draw the visitors back on level after Fordjour was fouled in the box. Just what they came for!
 
Accra Lions in doing the additional time, scored again to restore their lead and who else? Basit Seidu who headed from Remember's free kick to complete his hatrick
 
Seidu Basit scored once again on the 90+8 minutes to make it 4-2 for the Blue and Blacks who ended it that way to halt their appaling five game winless run.
