Nations FC tasted a defeat in their maiden Ghana Premier League game after an away loss to Dreams FC in the match-week one of the 2023/24 season at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu.

A first half strike from Emmanuel Adade ensured Dreams FC a comfortable 1-0 home win over Nations FC on Wednesday afternoon.

Adade opened the scoring with fine strike after making a good use of a defensive error of the visitors in the 7th minute of the game.

After conceding in the early minutes, Nations FC gained possession for a quick response but goalkeeper Solomon Agbesi denied them Nafiu Sulemana and Barimah Baah from grabbing the leveller.

The back line of Dreams FC stood resolute to deny them from getting the equalizer in the first half as it ended in a 1-0 lead for the host.

Coach Kassim Mingle's charges continued their impressive performance with the hopes of levelling the score but their effort proved futile.

Nations FC introduced Asamoah Boateng and Ishmael Antwi as replacements for Amidou Diarra and Emmanuel Boateng respectively to bolster their attacking options.

Substitute Ishmael Antwi came close to secure a point for Nations FC in the dying embers of the game but his strike went off target.

Dreams FC held on with the 1-0 lead to pick all three maximum points to commence their Premier League season on a good note at the Theatre of Dreams, Dawu.

Dreams FC will travel to Bechem to battle it out with Bechem United while Nations FC host FC Samartex in the match-week two of the 2023/24 season.
