Third placed Medeama SC lethargically cruised to victory and improve their numbers on the GPL leaderboard as they condemned already relegated Elmina Sharks by three goals to one at the Nduom Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The ‘Mauve and Yellow’ surprisingly proved too strong for the Fearsome Sharks to tame on Match Week 32 away from their Tarkwa base.
Beleaguered and Woefully exhausted 18th placed Elmina Sharks failed to inject any momentum into their ceremonious marching into Division One as they gleefully succumbed to the defeat at home with a 56th goal which was not enough to level things up with visiting Medeama SC.
Kofi Ansu opened the scoring by netting two quick goals for the visiting 'Mauves and Yellow' in the 3rd and 11th minutes respectively.
Dependable midfield dynamo, Kwasi Donsu added the third goal right at the stroke of halftime (45th minute).
Francis Oteng laid siege in the half of Medeama and eventually rewarded with a late strike as he pulled one back for Elmina Sharks in the 56th minute.
Sharks put up a valiant attempt in their bid to at least level the score but a resolute Medeama side refused to be denied all three points.
The loss left Sharks firmly entrenched on the bottom of the log with 22 points whilst Medeama is on the 3rd spot with 53 points.
