Nsoatreman FC missed out a chance to climb top of the league after losing painfully by 2-1 to Great Olympics in the last fixture of GPL match-day 9 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium.

Whiles Nsoatreman FC started the game on low note and were only focused on possession, Olympics attacked right from onset in search of the opener.

However, despite the slow start, it was the visitors that made the first attempt on goal after Stephen Diyou cross met a strong connection from Rahman but was collected by Benjamin Asare.

On the 14th minute, the travellers snatched the lead through Mohammed Abdul Rahman who scored with a cool finish from a throw in to mark his second of the season.

Twenty minutes later, Michael Osei made a good work on the flanks to launch in a decent cross but his teammates at near post couldn't make good use of that.

Osei again raced above his marker smartly and launched a very strong hit but was parried away to a wasted corner kick by Daniel Afadzu.

In the second half, Great Olympics returned on a blistering note and threw more men forward in search of the leveller.

On the 55th minute mark, Olympics were handed a free kick and Emmanuel Antwi converted beautifully a well-taken free kick to level things up.

The Wonder Club got into the lead for the first time in the game through Emmanuel Antwi who struck from a close range to snatch his brace.

On the 111th minute, Collins Cudjoe went in for a power but his effort was tipped off the crossbar by Benjamin Asare.

Seven minutes on, Charles Meider nearly pounced on a clanger from Okoe Grippman to get the leveller but his final effort went off Asare.

It finished 2-1 for Great Olympics after full time.
