Accra Great Olympics winless streak in the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season has been extended to four matches after sharing spoils with Legon Cities at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Great Olympics were held to a 1-1 home stalemate by Legon Cities in their match-week 23 fixture on Sunday afternoon.
The ‘Oly Dade’ enjoyed majority of the game in the first half which they managed to stage an intense pressure on the back line of Legon Cities to concede in the early minutes of the game.
On the 16th minute, Nicholas Mensah unfortunately scored at a wrong net to give Great Olympics the lead after a miscommunication with goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey.
Great Olympics couldn't make any effort of doubling their lead in the first half with Legon Cities coming close on the 25th minute through Samuel Armah but his long-range strike was fisted out by goalkeeper Stephen Kwaku.
Kwaku made another magnificent save on the stroke of halftime to deny the visitors from levelling the score Adu Meider.
Momentum shifted after the break with Legon Cities staging an intense pressure on the host to level the score before the hour-mark.
On the 59th minute, Kwabena Adu Meider snatched the equalizer for Legon Cities with a stunning strike which caught Stephen Kwaku unaware in his net.
The two sides could be found guilty for squandering the chances and set-pieces awarded to them while in search for the match-winner in the last twenty minutes of the game.
Great Olympics and Legon Cities are currently occupying 14th and 15th position respectively on the log after twenty-three games.
