Baba Kushibo was the star of the day as RTU claimed eight spot on the GPL pecking with a comfortable 3-1 victory against regional foes - Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
Baba Kushibo got the opener after 480 seconds (8 minutes) before 2001 born defender - Mohammed Mankuyeli then doubled RTUs lead 9 minutes later.
Although both teams came with a touch of slashing mentality. Karela were unable to find a response, despite dominating in the latter part of the first half, with Evans Adomako getting them a consolation goal in the 29th minute. However, Mankuyeli won a penalty for RTU after he was clipped down in the box. Danger man Afriyie Owusu then stood forward to score the penalty in the 52nd minute to make it 3-1 for the Northern Blue’s.
As tempers flared from the Pride and Passion bench as stern instructions were issued to the players on the field of play to keep their feet on the gas and press.
Goalscorer Adomako was replaced in the 65th minute by Alex Kuffour who doubled his side's goal to make it 3-2 in the 83rd minute mark.
The defeat left Karela on 11th with five points on the league table.
