The Phobians continued their preparations for this weekend's 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary games with a friendly against the second-tier club on Tuesday afternoon.
Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a narrow win over Division One League side Tudu Mighty Jets in a friendly at the Madina Astroturf.
Hearts of Oak interim coach, David Duncan handed starting berth to Richmond Ayi, Caleb Amankwah, Robert Addo, Konadu Yiadom, Fatawu Mohammed, Enoch Asubonteng, Daniel Kordie, Suraj Seidu, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Cameroonian striker Junior Kaaba.
In-form Daniel Afriyie Barnieh snatched the opener for Hearts of Oak after brilliantly connecting a cross delivered by Enoch Asubonteng on the 18th minute.
Afriyie Barnieh's header in the opening minutes of the game eventually became the only goal to be produced in the fixture.
The Phobians came close to extend their lead through Enoch Asubonteng, Junior Kaaba and Suraj Seidu but their efforts went futile.
In the second half, Hearts of Oak made changes in their line up which saw the introduction of Zakaria Yakubu, Mohammed Alhassan, Rashid Okine, Samuel Inkoom, Gladson Awako, Kwadwo Obeng Junior, Salifu Ibrahim, Otanga Geordon and Eric Esso.
Hearts of Oak looked dangerous in the second stanza of the game with Gladson Awako and Kwadwo Obeng Junior trying their lucks severally but their attempts went wide.
Also, Richard Attah, Prince Darmang, Linda Mtange, Gideon Asante and Amankwah Baafi who returned from injury earlier this week were all introduced to taste some minutes of the game.
The game forms part of Hearts of Oak preparations for the first leg tie of the 2022/23 CAF Confederation Cup preliminary games against ASR Bamako.
Hearts of Oak will be leaving the shores of Ghana this week for the all-important game against ASR Bamako in Mali on Saturday, 8th October, 2022.
