In the Match Week 32 game played on Sunday afternoon at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park, Karela recorded an awesome victory; winning 5-1 against Real Tamale United.
RTU tried to put up the good fight in a bid to move to a safe spot away from the relegation den but unfortunately lost despite showing signs of seriousness; as Karela scored five goals to win.
Umar Bashiru opened the scoring through a spot kick for the home team in the 33rd minute before Kelvin Andoh added the second goal three minutes later.
Bashiru added another in the 78th minute before Hedir Mohammed pulled one back for the ‘Pride of the North’ in the 82nd minute.
However, Medeama weren’t done with the goals as Samuel Attah Kumi added the fourth for the home side and the Aiyenase based side scored the fifth to dust RTU with five goals to take back home.
The victory catapulted Karela to the fourth spot on 48 points, a mere 13 points ahead of 15 placed RTU and perhaps we cannot bid good bye to the Northern Blues yet as they are bent in fighting for top flight football next season in the remaining two matches left.
