Nations FC put Karela United to the sword with an equally balanced attacking performance full of pace and quality to win 1-0 on Saturday at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.
In a one-sided game where Nations had well tailored shots on target, 22-shirted substitute - Asamoah Boateng scored from the spot kick to give the home side the opener in the 82nd minute which later panned out to be the only goal of the match.
The victory was vital for Nations, extending their winning streak to three, and climbing up to the 5th spot with seventeen points.
It was a terrible second half for Karela United as they could not match Nations FC’s intensity and willingness to press in midfield.
However, the Pride and Passion side received three yellow cards, which moved them to 15th position with 12 points.
Nations FC will next face Accra Lions in match-day 13 of the Ghana Premier League, while Karela will sit in Tamale and welcome Bechem United on December 2, 2023.
