The ‘Insha Allah’ boys have maintained their Premiership status after defeating Legon Cities on the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League final day.
King Faisal recorded a 2-1 home win over Legon Cities to secure their twelfth victory on the match-week 34 of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
King Faisal enjoyed majority of the possession with an impressive performance which paid off on the stroke of halftime.
The two goal glaring opportunities for King Faisal fell for Mawuli Wayo and Enoch Morrison but they failed to make it count on the 15th and 25th minute respectively.
King Faisal ended the first half with a 1-0 lead courtesy a 48th minute strike from David Oppong which deflected Legon Cities' Francis Addo into their net.
In the second half, King Faisal FC continued their dominance over Legon Cities as they were in search for more goals before the hour-mark but their efforts went futile.
On the 69th minute, Enoch Morrison brilliantly converted a spot-kick awarded to them after Mawuli Wayo was fouled in the 18-yard box.
Legon Cities gained possession to stage an intense pressure on the home side after conceding the second goal.
Striker Hans Kwofie pulled one back for Legon Cities with his goal on the 71st minute of the game.
Legon Cities looked dangerous in the final twenty minutes of the game but they were wasteful upfront as the fixture ended in a 2-1 win for King Faisal.
Following the results, King Faisal FC have maintained their status in the Ghana Premier League for the 2022/23 season.
