MATCH REPORT: Relegated Sharks stage comeback to rescue 2-2 draw with Oly Dade

The last matches of the nation’s premier soccer division (Ghana Premier League) came off as scheduled at the various league centers with almost every team having a cheetah in the race.

In the 'inoculation battle’ - already relegated Elmina Sharks and Accra Great Olympics shared the spoils (1-1) in an intense clash in Elmina.

Interestingly, with just a game to the end of the season Elmina Sharks trip to Division One soccer is the only guaranteed one with teams on the bottom half of the log separated by just a point or two each having a slim mathematical chance of exiting the premier division depending on how they fare in their last match of the season this afternoon.

At the Nduom Stadium, Olympics failed to take advantage of Sharks, although they have been relegated.

Liberia import Varney Boakai broke the deadlock for Oly Dade in the 23rd minute following a sweet pass to nip it at goal.

Samuel Ashie Quaye scored the second six minutes later before Sharks drew level in the 58th and 64th minutes respectively to cancel Oly Gbogbo’s lead.

Olympics thus boosted their top ten chances with the earned point as they moved to the 6th spot on 48 points.

Sharks ended the 2021/22 season on bottom (18th) with a paltry 23 points.
