King Faisal secured their maiden win of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season against Kotoku Royals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

King Faisal FC commenced the game on a good note as they mount pressure on the visitors when Abednego Tetteh and Baba Yahaya teamed up for the opener in the early minutes but their efforts went into the palms of goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu.
The impressive performance of the hosts paid off before the half-hour mark after Adom Antwi made a good use of a low-cross from Abednego Tetteh.
On the 27th minute, Adom Antwi snatched the opener for King Faisal with a brilliant header which saw goalkeeper Benjamin Asiedu crawling in his net .
Kotoku Royals warmed themselves into the fixture in the last fifteen minutes of the first half but their attempts to level the score went futile.
In the second half, King Faisal enjoyed majority of the game possession to double the score from the spot on the hour-mark.
The referee awarded a penalty to the home side after Abednego Tetteh was fouled in the 18-yard. He elected himself to convert the spot-kick to hand King Faisal a 2-0 lead on the 60th minute.
Kotoku Royals reduced the deficit through Emmanuel Marfo on the 85th minute but his strike wasn't enough to secure them a point at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
