Bechem United have ended their recent winless run after an important 1-0 win over Medeama SC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in a tough GPL week 13 fixture.
The homesters paraded a strong XI, featuring skipper Kofi Agbesimah, Emmanuel Avornyo, Hafiz Konkoni, Francis Twene and hoped for nothing but to get themselves back on winning ways.
On the opposition end, the Mauves and Yellows named a strong line up for the game, comprising of captain Kwesi Donsu, Vincent Atinga, with goalkeeper Appiah Kubi in goal.
Bechem United begun on a blistering note having made lots of attacks, playing like a typical home side in search for the opener.
Medeama SC on the other hand, looked very jittery and failed to make any dangerous incursions especially in the first half.
Back from recess, the visitors right most of their wrongs and stepped in with a different approach which game the upper hand in the early stages of the second half.
The Hunters knew how dangerous that could and didn't hesitate to stay more in their zone in order to contain the pressure metered by their travellers.
Both teams made some series of substitutions hoping for a turnaround but all didn't work as the only thing missing in the game which is a goal stayed rare till the 90th mark.
Finally, Bechem United snatched the lead thanks to a late penalty won by youngster Clinton Duodu. Captain Kofi Agbesimah elected himself for the kick and scored awesomely to win the game.
It ended 1-0 for the host after full time. Bechem United have now jumped into the top four with 20 points whiles Medeama remain on the 8th place with 17.
