Newbies Nsoatreman FC played out a thrilling goalless draw with champions Asante Kotoko in an epic GPL week 18 tie at the Nana Koramansah II Stadium.

Baba Mahama led the team on the pitch against his former club and was expected to replicate another man of the match performance like he did last week. Daniel Afadzwu started in goal, Philip Ofori, Mark Agyekum and whizkid Walid Neymar all made the line up.

With Kotoko, Danlad Ibrahim relegated to the bench after conceding two at Dreams last week, making way for Frederick Asare. Newly-signed Mohammed Alhassan was handed a starting berth in his debut today.

The first half was an even exchange encounter between the two sides who both took the game at each other in search of the opener but all proved futile.

Goalkeeper Daniel Afadzwu was tested thrice, having made two crucial timed saves to keep his side in the game whiles Frederick Asare was virtually on holiday heading into the break.

Back from recess, it was a similar approach from both teams with Kotoko still having the upper hand but always struggling to find the back of the net.

The homesters looked really resolute and well organized in their zone hoping to commit no mistakes at the back.

Steven Mukwala with an opportunity to hit the net on the 70th minute but a timed clearance from opposition defender John Kofi rescued the situation.

Big penalty appeal from the home fans on the 80th minute after the ball looked like going off the hand of Richard Boadu in the box but the referee ignored the shout.

Nsoatreman FC came so close to scoring but Frederick Asare pulled a great save to deny Stephen Diyuo's goal-directed shot.

It was goalless after full time as both teams shared spoils in the end.
