The home team, Legon Cities, capitalized on their home advantage to score the opening goal through Kofi Kordzi in the 35th minute of the game. They went into halftime with a one-goal lead.
In the second half, Maxwell Konadu's squad proved their worth and added another goal to seal the victory over Accra Lions. Ebenezer Armegah scored the second goal in the 46th minute. Accra Lions have had a poor run of form, winning only one of their last five matches in the Ghanaian top-flight.
The win moved Legon Cities up to the 10th position with 37 points, while Accra Lions dropped to the 7th spot with 41 points after playing 28 matches in the campaign.
