Goals from Nurudeen Abdulai and Joshua Agyemang has powered Medeama SC to a resounding 2-0 triumph over Legon Cities FC in an epic week 18 clash.
Umar Abdul Rabi made three changes from their last game but still kept faith in young goalkeeper Felix Kyei. Kwesi Donsu as usual captained the team alongside Vincent Atinga, inform Nurudeen Abdulai and others.
On the opposition end, Michael Ampadu returned into the line up for Legon Cities which also featured skipper Jonah Attuquaye, Kofi Kordzi in a star-studded one. Goalkeeper William Essu was dropped for Samuel Sackey.
Medeama SC began explosively and took the game under their control, dictating the pace and pattern.
Legon Cities on the other hand, looked completely off and recorded no shot on target in the entire first half.
Medeama's lead was registered on the 39th minute through Nurudeen Abdulai who scored with a beautiful hit which went straight into the bottom left corner.
Explosive second half start from the Royals nearly got the leveller after Jonah Attuquaye shoots from Ampadu's free kick but was saved by Felix Kyei. The visitors first shot on goal.
The visitors with a double corner kicks on the 57th minute, Jonah with two beautiful deliveries but all couldn't count and resulted into wasted efforts.
Medeama SC appealed for a penalty on the 64th minute after Jonathan Sowah appeared to have been clipped down by Nichols Mensah in the box but the referee waved play on.
The Mauves and Yellows subsequently doubled their lead as a result of a blistering counter break. Jonathan Sowah sets up Donsu in the box who unselfishly laid off to Joshua Agyemang at a close range to grab their second.
The travellers attacked so well in the last ten minutes and had some dangerous free kicks fell on their path but couldn't make anything useful out of them.
It ended 2-0 for Medeama SC who have now extended their recent unbeaten run to four. They've four clubs on 27 points each on the league log.
