Aduana Stars stayed on the winning path as they extended their winning streak by recording their fourth successive victory in a row on Sunday afternoon by defeating Heart of Lions 2-1 away at Hohoe Sports Stadium.
In a match which was straightforward saw Aduana scoring both goals in the first half with Kelvin Obeng breaking the virginity of the match in the 18th minute, before exciting forward Isaac Mintah scored his eighth goal of the season - twenty-one minutes later before recess.
18-year-old Lions goal poacher - Mustapha Yakubu pulled one back to force the match to end 2-1. However, this encounter did not feel like an all-too-familiar story with Heart of Lions as the away side brought in a winnable mentality.
The full duration of the match was reminiscent of the uninspired performances we’ve seen lately for the Premier League returnees.
Aduana’s defense was compact and organized while their attacking players were actually creative as they seemed to have a solid understanding of what their hosts were bringing on board as the Fire Boys deservedly won to exit the Volta Region with the three maximum points.
Aduana Stars have climbed up to the top of the league table with 18 points, whilst Heart of Lions kept rocking the bottom pecking with their appalling six points.
