Medeama shot themselves closer to the GPL title with a sweet home win over Karela United at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa this afternoon.
Medeama defied all odds and won the much-anticipated Nzema derby match to push them closer to the title.
Medeama made the home fans go gaga through a spot kick with an early 28th minute goal by Vincent Atinga from which Karela could not recover from despite fighting hard for the equalizer during the dying embers of the match.
The goal was enough to move the Yellow and Muaves to the second spot on 44 points.
However, Karela remain holed up on the 12th spot on 32 points and will have to continue to put in much work if they want to finish the league on a higher level.
